Ágata. 2025. Baby dress found during a walk, soil, broken window glass. 75 cm x 31 cm x 10 cm
Recognising materials as silent witnesses: of the action of time, of chance, of continuous transformation processes. Of the layers formed by the elements’ actions. Witnesses of forgetting, and of the lives left behind along the way.
The dirt, the earth, the tears, the fractures, open dialogues with the mystery from which we are made. The object forces us to rethink the category of the dirty – or, rather, the impure – as a necessary part of conceiving the pure, as an active element in defining the sacred.
We must be in the world, dive into the dirt, because in ‘dirt’ there is truth. The greatest saints often were once dissolute sinners.
